Shemi Best Practices

Shemi is only as good as the photo and instructions you give it. These habits reliably produce better listings.

Photography that gets results

  • Use natural daylight - window light beats a phone flash.
  • Remove the item from its box for the cover shot (keep the box in another photo).
  • Shoot at eye level, not from above/below.
  • Fill the frame: item covers 80%+ of the image.
  • Add a close-up of any detail that affects value: stitching, screen, tag, chips or cracks.

One item per photo, one item per listing

Shemi (and buyers) work best when each listing is about one product. For bundles, photograph the set together and tell Shemi it's a bundle.

Prompt quality counts

  1. Be specific
Bad: 'make it better'. Good: 'Add that it comes with the charging cable'.

  2. State the goal
Tell Shemi the buyer you want: 'Write for a fashion-conscious buyer in Lagos'.

  3. Correct immediately
If Shemi gets something wrong, say so plainly and it will fix it in the next pass.

Consistency across your store

Sellers whose listings share a similar format convert better. Use Shemi's outputs as a template, then keep the same structure across all your products so your store feels cohesive.

The 4-photo rule

Sellers of used items who upload 4 photos (front, back, flaw close-up, proof-of-ownership) earn significantly fewer claims. Shemi can generate the wording; only you can supply the photos.
